Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Trinamool Youth Congress and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) have dispatched around 51,000 letters to Union Home Minister Amit Shah ahead of his scheduled public meeting in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Accusing the Central Government of reneging on promises, the letters assert that Bengal is being deprived unjustly due to political vendetta. The communication emphasizes the denial of the 100-day work payment to the people of Bengal, with the party contending that the Center has failed to fulfill its commitment.
Additionally, the letters highlight concerns about the rising unemployment rate in the country despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2014 promise to generate two crore jobs annually. State President of Youth Trinamool, Soyoni Ghosh, and Trinamool Student Council President Trinakur Bhattacharya have also penned an open letter to Amit Shah, expressing their grievances.
In preparation for Union Home Minister Amit Shah's public meeting in Kolkata, Trinamool has raised its dissent by sending an extensive batch of 51,000 letters. The letters accuse the Central Government of practicing political vendetta by depriving Bengal of its rightful entitlements, specifically citing the denial of payment for 100 days of work. Trinamool's correspondence alleges that the promises made by PM Narendra Modi in 2014, including the commitment to create two crore jobs annually, have not been honored, leading to a surge in unemployment rates and soaring prices.
Notably, Trinamool leaders, Soyoni Ghosh and Trinakur Bhattacharya, have contributed to the dissent by composing an open letter to Home Minister Amit Shah. As Shah's meeting in Kolkata unfolded, it disrupted normal proceedings in the Assembly, with no BJP MLA in attendance, and the only opposition representative being ISF MLA Naushad Siddiqui, who claimed BJP members protested inside the Assembly during the meeting.
